The Society made its public debut during Drayton Riverfest July 15, 2000.

Parade Float - Pictures below
We entered a float in the Riverfest Parade that featured a re-enactment of an old-time wash day. The float was very lighthearted, those that rode it had a whole bunch of fun, and earned us the traveling trophy for best entry in the parade!

First Museum
The Society also hosted its first museum display in the basement of the City Hall Building and set up a separate display of privately-owned historical items in its Treasures from the Past show in the Drayton State Bank lobby. The latter event also featured our family history database, where we encouraged attendees to look up their family members and to add or correct information stored there.
