The Ox Cart is Rolling!

“Recognize Your Talent” will be Lauraine Snelling’s subject as our guest speaker for a banquet on April 27, 2006, 5:30 - mark this day on your calendar.  We will start the evening with a Social Hour 4:30 to 5:30. A ticket for this social and meal is $10.00.  A Silent Auction will take place throughout the evening. 

From 10:00 to 2:00 on April 27, Lauraine will give a Writer’s Session.  Cost for this session is $25, which includes the noon meal.  Preregister by sending in your fee to OCTHS, PO Box 213, Drayton, ND 58225.

The next quarterly meeting is Monday, April 24, 7:00 PM at the H G Johnson Memorial Hall.  Committee meetings will begin at 5:30 with BBQ’s will be served to those present.  We will discuss our plans with Lauraine Snelling and other activities.  Join us!

The OCTHS bookstore in the Valley News & Views building has Lauraine Snelling’s latest books.  These books including the Red River of the North series, Return to Red River series, Healing Quilt, The Gift, Dakota, Saturday Morning, Once Upon a Christmas, and The Dakotah Treasurers are available for you to purchase.  Some of these books are out of print, so pick up your copy before they are gone.  These books are autographed by Ms Snelling, but you may have them personalized when she visits us on April 27.

“Paddling Through The Past” will be the event to attend in Riverfest 2006.  That is another event to mark on your calendar – the third weekend of July.  Did you see “A River Runs Beside It” in 2003?  You must not miss this one. If you are interested in helping with this production, contact one of the officers of the Society.

The museum is open upon request by calling one of the officers.  Help us keep the Ox Cart Rolling.
