The Ox Cart is Rolling!
May 2007

Ox Cart Trails Historical Society will be working at the museum on Wednesdays at 5:00 from now through the month of June. As always, new members are always welcome.  However, if you want to just help, we welcome your generosity

The historical society’s project of placing mannequins in local stores is to give you a small style show of the clothing from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s as they are portrayed in the Red River of the North books by Lauraine Snelling.  If you have any clothing, either authentic or reproductions, from that era for women, men or children, let us know.  This would include accessories, shoes and purses.

Stop at our book store, now in Drayton Drug, to check out the Blessing and OCTHS mugs. Ingeborg Bjorklund’s Red River Cookbook plus all of Ms. Snelling’s other books are also at the Drug Store.  This includes the latest A Promise for Ellie. Sophie’s Dilemma is due to be out in July; and we will have it in stock for you to purchase.

While you are in Hastings Landing enjoying a meal out, take note of how Christine has decorated with many pictures of old.  These photos are from her files of the family, the archives of Ox Cart Trails Historical Society, and others are from our local residents.  Our mugs and cookbooks are also available at Hastings Landing.

We have many projects on our plate, and we need Drayton’s help to do all this.      Lauraine and Wayne Snelling will be our guests for Riverfest 2007. Lauraine will have a Writing Workshop on Friday, July 20, 9:00 to 3:00.  We will have activities by the soddy for Riverfest, so be sure join us. Our web site is www.oxcarttrails.net.  Should you have questions regarding any of these activities or to reserve a mug, a copy of the cookbook or one of Ms. Snelling’s many books call 701-454-6103 or email president@oxcarttrails.net.  Help us keep the Ox Cart Rolling.
