The Ox Cart is Rolling |

The Ox Cart is Rolling! August 2004 Ox Cart Trails Historical Society held its annual meeting July 18 at H G Johnson Memorial Hall with 14 members present. The siding and windows of the museum were discussed. It was decided to
contact local contractors for bids to reside the west side where needed
and replace some boards on the rest of the building. A special meeting
will be called to make this decision. A preservative will be put on the
oxcart and the deck. Some possible future activities discussed were: displays
though the State Historical Society, a family history project for our
young people to work on genealogy in their own families, putting a scrapbook
together for the Society, making videos of Drayton “now” and
“then”, a spaghetti meal for the public in October in conjunction
with Fright Knight, Couch Potato Sale in February or March, an old fashioned
dance around Valentine’s Day. No decisions were made on these projects.
The Society will package the Santa bags for Old Fashioned Christmas. Memberships are for the year of August 1 though July 31. Single membership is $10, family $15, life time $300. You may mail your membership dues to PO Box 213, Drayton, ND 58225. Officers for the coming year are Marlys Boll, president; Saralee Hoselton, vice president; Earlene Lasch, treasurer, and Shirley Raney, secretary. Should you have any artifacts or records of interest for the Society, you may contact these officers or any of the members. Come and help us keep the Ox Cart rolling! Work continues on Wednesday evenings to finish the painting project and work on the collections. The museum is open upon request by calling one of the officers. We will be happy to show off our displays of interesting photos, histories, and memorabilia from the Drayton area. |
