Museum Trip |

Pembina State Museum trip Society members drove up to the Pembina State Museum Sunday, March 13, 2005 to visit their temporary exhibit “Winter Memories.” Site Supervisor Jeff Blanchard served as docent for the tour and gave the group many insights into the value of collecting, preserving, and exhibiting everyday, non-antique artifacts. Members also noted some techniques used to label artifacts in the museum and different ways to increase the appeal of exhibits by adding descriptive labels and photographs. Museum staff member Gladys Kemnitz surprised the group
by presenting the society with a number of photographs and other items
given to her by Jeffrey and Carol Hanson, Baudette, MN. Her photos of
Drayton nurses and the Drayton Hospital, in fact, had been on exhibit
at the Pembina State Museum until recently. All the items are valuable
additions to Ox Cart Historical Society’s collection. |
